This is the earliest I have started fishing the river. Yesterday was the first float of the year and went off with a bang #gettheclicker The water temps were just under 50 a very slight stain with decent visibility. The normal spring fly selection all produced. This summer the Kankakee valley is predicted to be the epicenter of two massive brood cicada hatches that hasn’t happened in the last 100 years. My top water box can’t wait. If you want to get in this event do not wait to book your day. I have zero weekend availability until August already May and June are more than 3/4 full. This is going to be a great summer.
